12 sculptures installed in Stryisky Park

12 monumental works by Ukrainian and international artists were installed on the alley of sycamore trees in Lviv's Stryi Park. New granite sculptures were created by Alexander Dyachenko (Ukraine), Ilya Novgorodov (Ukraine), Vasily Tatarsky (Ukraine), Vincent Bofis-Urdigas (France), Lien Chin Ho (Taiwan), Alessio Ranaldi (Italy), Yuri Bagalika, Thomas Oliva (USA) and Johnny Gogaberishvili (Georgia). The opening took place within the framework of the Lviv Sculpture Week 2025 festival.

The theme of this year's Lviv Sculpture Week 2025 festival is “Dialogues”which symbolizes communication as an instrument of sustainability and at the same time an engine of change in man and society. The exhibition program started on September 9, and the October climax of the festival was marked by the installation of new works on the sycamore alley. The organizers of the festival are the creative association “Chervone Chorne”, Lviv City Council, Ya Gallery, Coma — Museum of Modern Art, Lviv Regional Military Administration.

“For us, this is an important event,” said Yuriy Stashkiv, one of the organizers of the festival, “We are systematically working on the promotion of sculpture in the public space. This is the second sculptural march in Stryisky Park that we have created. The first such route took place in 2023. The works that we have selected with an expert commission are among the best in our collection, they will be exhibited here for at least all four seasons. The alley of sycamores in itself is a very iconic and picturesque place in Lviv, which is ideal for exploring sculptures”.

All sculptures were created during 2011-2021 at the Kaniv International Sculpture Symposium of the KrasneChorne creative association. It is a unique art space where artists from all over the world work on monumental works to make contemporary art closer to people and visible in the public spaces of cities. More information about each sculpture can be obtained on the Instagram channel of the creative association, where over the next two weeks, where posts will be published dedicated to each work.

Part of the collection has already been installed in Stryisky Park earlier in 2021. In particular, the work of Vasily Korchovy “Yumber “, works by Ukrainian sculptors Oleksandr Dyachenko, Vitaly Protoseni and Oleg Kapustyak, as well as Japanese master Yoshin Ogata and Bulgarian Zdravko Zdravkov.

The “Chervonechorne” Foundation, founded in 2005 by entrepreneur and philanthropist Yuriy Stashkov, is actively working on the creation, promotion and preservation of art and culture in Ukraine.
