“Where am I now?” is a fundamental question faced by a person seeking a deeper understanding of himself and the world. The exhibition is born from the artist's reflections on the nature of space, the vulnerability of balance and about the home as a physical and existential fulcrum. The image of the Colossus of Rhodes, a giant statue that, according to legend, towered over the harbor, resting each foot on a separate pier, appears as a metaphor: is it possible to be in two places at the same time? Will such a design withstand the shock of reality?

The exposition is built in the form of a two-layer installation. The lower layer, a kind of “background”, consists of works on synthetic canvas from the “Globe” series (2023), shown in Berlin for the first time. In the foreground are a series of graphic sheets from the Time of War series (2022 — 2023). “You can see the lines of my movements and the points of my stops. However, the whole group forms a simple and at the same time difficult to explain understanding of home as a point of support and a place where I lived and live in reality,” says Budnikov.

According to gallery co-owner Eric Pavlitsky, the space Alle Möglischecreated as an open space for communication and interaction: “Our gallery is a public space that brings together not only art professionals, but also people who come simply out of curiosity. Our goal is to make the conversation about art open and accessible, so that everyone can feel part of the dialogue. And for us, this is another opportunity to talk about Ukraine.”

Residence a_bruke, founded by Vlada Ralko and Vladimir Budnikov after the full-scale Russian invasion, became a platform for artistic dialogue and understanding of life in the conditions of war. Here, artists not only work on their own projects, but also initiate group exhibitions and dialogues with German artists. The project is carried out in cooperation with the artistic association “Red Black”. The exhibition will run from August 16 to September 21, 2025.
