Kanev International Sculpture SymposiumKaniv International Sculpture Symposiumexpands the horizons and sculptures from the sculpture park in Kanev, which has been forming for ten years, begin their journey.

In one of the most beloved old parks of Lviv, Stryisky Park, there are 8 modern sculptures from the collection of the artistic association “Chervonechorne”, the organizer of the Kaniv International Sculpture Symposium. The initiative belongs to the co-founder of the association and the sponsor of the project Yuriy Stashkiv. The presentation of part of the sculpture collection of the association in Stryisky Park was a logical continuation of the artistic initiative started many years ago. The project was supported by Lviv City Council, Lviv Regional Council with the assistance of curator Pavel Gudimov (art center “Ya Gallery”).

All sculptures are made of Ukrainian stones, mostly granite. In Stryisky Park, residents and visitors of Lviv will be able to see the works of Ukrainians Oleksandr Dyachenko, Vasyl Korchovy, Vitaliy Protoseni, Oleg Kapustyak, the famous Japanese master Yoshin Ogata and Bulgarian sculptor Zdravko Zdravkov.

The project of the Sculpture Route was approved by the Department of Ecology of the city of Lviv. The organizers made sure that the soils and vegetation would not suffer through the use of special simple foundation structures.
