KrasneChorne expands the horizons to Stryi Park in Lviv!

The Kaniv International Sculpture Symposium is broadening horizons, and the sculptures from the sculpture park in Kaniv—which has been taking shape over the last ten years—are now setting out on their journey. In one of Lviv’s most beloved old parks, Stryisky Park, eight contemporary sculptures from the collection of the ‘ChervoneChorne’ art association, organiser of the Kaniv International Sculpture Symposium, have been installed.

The initiative belongs to the association’s co-founder and project sponsor, Yuriy Stashkiv. The presentation of part of the association’s sculpture collection in Stryisky Park was a logical continuation of an artistic initiative launched many years ago. The project was supported by Lviv City Council and Lviv Regional Council, with the assistance of curator Pavlo Gudimov (art centre “Ya Gallery”). All the sculptures are made from Ukrainian stone, mainly granite.

In Stryi Park, residents and visitors to Lviv will be able to see works by Ukrainian artists Oleksandr Dyachenko, Vasyl Korchovyi, Vitalii Protosen, Oleg Kapustyak, the renowned Japanese master Yoshina Ogata, and the Bulgarian sculptor Zdravko Zdravkov. The Sculpture Route project has been approved by the Lviv City Department of Ecology. The organisers have ensured that the soil and vegetation will not be damaged thanks to the use of special, simple foundation structures. Keep an eye on our announcements, as we have planned a host of exciting events to ensure that sculpture takes its rightful place both in the city and in your hearts./
