The TENDER GROUND exposition will open on November 16 at Prostir Lviv and will be available to visit until December 15.
‘Art needs space’ – this is the slogan under which Alterra Group and Yuriy Stashkiv’s ‘ChervoneChorne’ Foundation are launching their collaboration, presenting a major exhibition featuring two prominent Ukrainian artists, Oleksandr Babak and Oleksandr Dyachenko. Thanks to the large space available, this project offers an opportunity to showcase the artists’ large-scale works in a single exhibition, bringing together painting and sculpture in one venue.
The pairing of these artists is no coincidence, as their creative explorations and thematic interests intersect in the study of historical anthropology and the topographical features of the Ukrainian landscape, which directly influences the imagery of their refined yet grandiose works. Their approach to creating works is characterised by a lack of haste and an absence of immediate reaction to the rapid changes in events and moods. It is rather a deep, measured gaze at fundamental existential questions, situated in a state of equilibrium and tranquillity.
The exhibition offers a space for a free interpretation of the works and the relationships between them, without directing the viewer towards specific interpretations. By choosing to deconstruct the conventional practice of exhibition design—which typically follows a certain logic, with a beginning and a climax—the organisers invite visitors not to analyse, but rather to feel. To feel the very grandeur and power of the art of these two outstanding artists, its silence and its strength. The atmosphere and mood here become no less important than the art itself, fostering a close dialogue between the visitor and the art, without intermediaries.
The opening will take place on November 16 at 14:00.
The exhibition will work with 16 novembreto December 152024 Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00 to 18.00
